College celebrates as two new Associate Vice Principals join the Senior Leadership Team

Donald Lush and Louis Strover map out their visions for a 21st Century College

Sir George Monoux College is delighted to welcome Donald Lush and Louis Strover as its two new Associate Vice Principals, who joined the College’s Senior Leadership Team, earlier this month. Louis and Donald will be joining Dr Tina Street who has also been appointed to the role of Assistant Vice Principal. Dr Street has worked at Sir George Monoux College for 24 years and brings her vast experience and understanding of the College to her new role.

Donald, the College’s Associate Vice Principal (Student Journey) has lived in London since the age of nine and brings with him a rich understanding of the local population having previously worked at Epping Forest College, Leyton Sixth Form College and Waltham Forest College. He has dedicated almost all his working life to student services and is leading the College’s vision of ensuring students at the College are motivated, industrial and challenged. Donald is overseeing students’ progression into higher education and employment, managing the students’ tutorial programme, as well as ensuring students’ well-being and building links with the community. Outside his main role, Donald is a professional trainer in equality and diversity, management and life coaching and his bank of successes include winning Matrix Awards for Information, Advice and Guidance and the consistent accomplishment of high Ofsted grades in the areas of equality and diversity.

Louis Strover, the College’s Associate Vice Principal (Quality and Student Experience) has worked in the education sector for 16 years in a broad range of positions. Louis, formerly the Director of Learning at John Ruskin Sixth Form College, has held several senior management roles and possesses a strong background in information and learning technology. Louis is driving Sir George Monoux College’s mission of ensuring that the learning experience of each student is of the highest quality. He will be overseeing the College’s commitment to quality and standards, as well as ensuring the continuation of a thriving cross-college Student Voice and overseeing organisational data and management information systems. Louis, who has a degree in Hospitality and Catering Management, has spent most of his working life focusing on quality systems and building teams, but also draws upon a diverse professional career that spans from teaching to managerial involvement in major sporting events, such as the Rugby World Cup and Tennis Wimbledon.

Kim Clifford, Principal of Sir George Monoux College said "Donald and Louis are both very experienced professionals and we are very pleased to welcome them to Sir George Monoux College. Both leaders have demonstrated tremendous capabilities and innovation in their former roles and they bring experience and expertise to a leadership team that is committed to delivering education excellence to the young people of East London and the community that we serve".

Donald Lush, Associate Vice Principal (Student Journey), said “I have worked or lived in East London for nearly all my career. Louis Strover, Associate Vice Principal (Quality and Student Experience), said "Within my very first few days at Sir George Monoux College I have enjoyed engaging with the vibrant, enthusiastic and ambitious students that study here. I am greatly inspired by the warm and friendly atmosphere that illuminates this place; the resources are world class and teachers are clearly dedicated to learner needs.
