Introduction to course

Have you ever wished you could stay on holiday forever? Have you thought how exciting the airport environment is and what it would be like to be a part of it? Study Travel and Tourism and become part of this dynamic, ever changing industry that employs over 237 million people worldwide.

Course Details

This is a practical, work-related course. All students take four core units which are: Investigating Travel and Tourism, The Business of Travel and Tourism, The UK as a Destination, and Customer Service in Travel and Tourism.

In addition, you will study specialist units such as Business Travel and Marketing Travel and Tourism Products. The course also includes a two week work experience unit.

We offer a range of trips that are both assignment based and educational. Past trips have included Thorpe Park, the World Travel Market, London Dungeon and the Science Museum. We also offer a residential trip, past trips have included Spain, Cyprus and Disneyland Paris.

Upon completion of 18 units this qualification is the equivalent of 3 A Levels, allowing progression to higher education courses.

Entry Requirements

5 GCSE grades A* - C are normally required, including English Language. Alternatively, a MERIT grade in BTEC First Diploma or GNVQ Intermediate in a relevant vocational area would also be suitable, normally supported by a GCSE grade C in English.

Widely accepted at many universities, this is an ideal course for those wishing to study tourism further and business related courses. Alternatively, you may wish to go straight into employment.
