Introduction to course
We offer a range of trips that are both assignment based and educational. Past trips have included Thorpe Park, the World Travel Market, London Dungeon, the Science Museum and Brighton. We also offer a residential trip; this year's destination was Cyprus.
A Level 2 BTEC Diploma is made up of ten units; three core units are The UK Travel and Tourism Industry, UK Travel and Tourism Destinations and Exploring marketing in Travel and Tourism. Upon completion of ten units this qualification is the equivalent to 5 GCSEs. Some of the units that you will study include:
- Explaining Marketing in Travel and Tourism
- Explaining Airports and Airlines
- The UK Travel and Tourism Sector
4 GCSE grades D - E are normally required including English. Alternatively, a MERIT grade at Level 1, in a relevant vocational area, would also be appropriate.
Where the course lead
The course can lead to the Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma or to employment in the Travel and Tourism Industry.
This course is assignment based giving you an opportunity to receive feedback from your teachers and improve your work and grades.
