Introduction to course
The BTEC Level 2 Diploma in ICT is a popular choice amongst students. We offer a range of exciting ICT qualifications that are well established, nationally validated courses. This course is aimed at students who wish to progress to the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Information Technology but do not yet have the required grades to study the course.
Course Details
The department has a team of very experienced teaching staff with a wealth of industrial experience to help you succeed. The College has excellent IT facilities. Dedicated classrooms have been totally refurbished to a very high specification. The rooms all have digital projectors, interactive whiteboards and brand new state-of-the-art computers with flat screens. The network runs on WindowsServer and Windows 7.
This course is aimed at students who have an interest in the ICT sector. It covers Communicating in the IT Industry, Working in the IT Industry, Computer Systems, Mathematics for IT, Event Driven Programming, Spreadsheet Modelling, and Digital Graphics. These may change.
Entry Requirements
4 GCSE grades D - E are normally required including Maths. Alternatively, a MERIT grade at BTEC Introductory level or NVQ Foundation, in IT, would also be appropriate.

Where the course lead
We expect our students to progress from this course to the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in IT, but you must achieve a Merit grade and have C grades in Mathematics and English. You will also need to demonstrate good attendance, punctuality, behaviour and commitment to the course.
