Course Details
This course will give you a thorough grounding in Information and Communication Technology and its practical application in both businesses and consumer settings.
You will learn about the development of ICT systems, the ICT requirements of different organisations and the practical uses of ICT software. You will also be encouraged to think about the implications of the use of ICT for individuals, society and organisations.
In the first year you will be assessed through two exams, taken in January and/or June. In the second year you will be assessed through one exam taken in January and or/June and through a complex project in which you will use your system development skills to solve a genuine business problem.
The syllabus has a strong emphasis on understanding how ICT is used within a real-life business environment. It provides an enjoyable and challenging course for students who are interested in applying skills, knowledge and understanding gained on the course to address genuine business issues.
You will need 5 GCSEs, preferably with Bs in English Language and Mathematics GCSE to gain a place.
Entry Requirements
B grades in English and Maths preferred.
