Introduction to course
Media Production
A BTEC Extended Diploma is a practical, work-based course and assignments are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. It is equivalent to three A Levels.

Entry Requirements
5 GCSE grades A* - C are normally required, including English. Alternatively, a MERIT grade in BTEC First Diploma or GNVQ Intermediate in a relevant vocational area would also be suitable, normally supported by a GCSE grade C in English. You may also be required to take a diagnostic test to ensure you are suitable for the course.

Where the course lead
BTEC National Diplomas are valued by employers, universities and colleges. If you want to get a job straight away you could work in Film, Video and TV Production, Animation, Graphic Design or Photography.
If you decide to go to university or college you could take a degree or a BTEC Higher National subject such as Animation and Television and Film Design, Photography and Digital Imaging, Moving Image Production or Media Studies.
